What is Engineered Hardwood Flooring?

Exploded diagram of engineered wood flooring layers, showing a wood-grain top surface and cross-section

Engineered wood flooring looks very similar to natural hardwood on the surface, but instead of a single wood plank, the center is a high-quality plywood core. This gives it excellent stability! Engineered wood flooring can be distressed in any of our styles. Swipe down for more information/FAQs.

Engineered VS Natural Hardwood

Engineered looks similar to natural hardwood, but in the construction of the flooring, there is plywood in the center. It consists of a thin layer of hardwood on top and plywood in between, giving it excellent stability! Solid hardwood is cut directly from the tree in strips.
