The elegance of Parisian flooring is renowned for its timeless beauty and sophistication. The attention to detail and precision that is required to create a floor of this standard is unmatched. We find ourselves seeking the Parisian inspiration for many of our projects. We are very excited to announce this breathtaking collection and continue to use inspiration to create a reality.
The Hall of Mirrors in the Palace of Versailles was constructed for Louis XIV in 1689. The parquet floor, which extends a length of 246 feet, is one of the most famous in the world and a prime example of the ornate wood floors constructed in palaces at the time. To create the floor, carpenters use hand tools similar to those developed in ancient times, including draw knives for smoothing wood planks, hand saws, drills, hammers and rulers.
We create these parquets in the striking similarity to that of the French artisans. Replication with the same precision is what we create here at Storybook.
Chevron is one of the most timeless and easily recognizable patterns in the world. In France, parquet is a staple in most homes, storefronts, and common spaces. The repetitive pattern gives chevron a widening effect and an entrancing flow throughout a room.
