StableWood Hardwood Flooring Collection

Where the beauty of a horse inspires the elegance of a hardwood floor

At StoryBook Floors, we love wood and horses. We couldn't think of a better combination than the enduring beauty of the one combined with the majestic serenity of the other, and thus the StableWood Hardwood Flooring Collection was born.

Each of our floors in the StableWood Collection is inspired by a horse that we have come to know and love. You don't have to be a horse aficionado to fall in love with these hardwood floors. They're made to mirror nature's own unique masterpieces, and then they're brought to life by our creative artisans. It's the delight of open fields and the allure of the equine world, all in the comfort of your home.

Francesca Bay

Francesca is a spirited beauty - there is not a fence or stall that can corral her independent spirit, and yet she offers one of the most glorious rides and loyal heart of any horse we've ever met. If her big heart and free spirit wasn't enough to make us fall in love with her, her coloring certainly is. With a robust bay coloring, jet black mane and tail, and an intelligent face full of beautiful highlights and lowlights scattered throughout, she is captivating to behold. We're thrilled to say that the hardwood floor that bears her name is just as enchanting. With warm honey hues, rich browns and copper coloring, all accented by deep wood grains and a light charring to bring it all together, the Francesca Bay is a gorgeous hardwood floor with a unique mare to inspire your home's newest centerpiece.

Oniah Grace

Oniah Grace is a sweet, little filly with big, dark eyes that hold any onlooker captive with their tranquil beauty. She is the epitome of grace and has a quiet strength about her as she grows up in her gentle-spirited way. With swirls to match her cowlicks and soft grey hues and white accents to match her dusky coloring, we think the Oniah Grace hardwood floor has captured its tender-hearted inspiration perfectly. It is subtly beautiful and gently mesmerizing - just like the little filly who has stolen our hearts.

StableWood Original

While experimenting with color combinations, we stumbled upon and fell in love with an aged and colored, hickory, circle sawn floor that we have now dubbed the StableWood Original. Because of the wood species, this hickory hardwood floor is incredibly durable and resilient to daily wear and tear. The crosshatch pattern mimics the circle sawn (also known as skip-sawn) markings of the olden days and the more simplistic sawmills of the times. It's the perfect brand new hardwood floor with an old world feel, combining a balanced blend of rustic charm and a smooth touch finish that brings a warm patina from the stable to the home.

Shiloh's Serenity

Shiloh is an easy-going, tender-hearted yearling who stands out in a crowd. He is friend to one and all, and he loves to put his head over your shoulder and give you a hug. He's so sweet that if it weren't for his size, we'd bring him inside as a pet. However, seeing as we can't do that, we're delighted to introduce a floor inspired by Shiloh's autumn coloring, so that even though he has to stay in the stable, his lovely hues can be inside with us every day of the year. Made with wire-brushed sappy cherry and a clear oil finish, Shiloh's Serenity is the perfect cherry hardwood floor or accent wall to create an elegant and warm atmosphere in your home by embracing the richness of autumn tones.

Friesian WinterScape

Most of us picture horses with sleek and shiny coats, seemingly floating through fields of clover under blue skies and puffy clouds. However, there is scene just as tranquil - a horse amidst glistening snow, silhouetted against a moody sky, standing like the centurion of the field in the stillness of winter. To add to the enchantment, snow glitters on his wooly, winter coat and he appears almost magical in this winter landscape. Most picturesque of all are the Friesians, the gentle giants of an ancient breeding line - solid black with long and curly manes that shimmer with copper highlights. Now we can't all sip morning coffee while looking out upon such a scene, but you can have a floor inspired by such a view. Our Friesian WinterScape brings the richness of the Friesian's dark coats and the softness of the white snow to your living room, without the cold of winter or the smell of hay. It's a unique floor that will hide just about anything - from the dog's hair to accidental scratches. The only thing you'll see is the beauty of a Friesian in the winter snow.

Palomino Passion

Once reserved strictly for Spanish royalty and forbidden to be owned by commoners, palominos have been an idolized treasure in the horse community for centuries. Their coats range from a honey hue to a shimmering cream, and their manes are often ivory or white. Palominos are greatly admired for their captivating appearance, and when you meet Cassidy, you know there is no exaggeration in this age-old reputation. Cassidy is a Tennessee Walker and it's hard to say which we love more - her gorgeous palomino coloring or her passionate, queenly personality. From the very beginning we wanted to make a floor dedicated to this equine beauty. Our Palomino Passion is a white oak, multi-distressed floor that boasts of caramel and cream coloring and a few chocolate accents to match Cassidy's big, brown eyes. It's subtle, yet elegant, and lends itself to a myriad of decorating styles - from French country to airy seaside cottage.

Loki's Love

We love our time in the barn and can't imagine life without our horses, but really now, what is life without a trusty dog? Rightly nicknamed "man's best friend," our furry companions bring joy to our lives - someone to talk to after a long day, a buddy for chore time, and the house just feels safer with a four-legged alarm system. Inspired by one of our favorite breeds, the Blue Heeler floor is every bit as unique, durable, and wonderful as the canines it resembles. Toasty brown, with charred accents and little flecks of white and grey, the Blue Heeler is a highly adaptive floor for varying color schemes and styles. Now, as much as we love dogs, we have to admit, this hardwood floor does have a few advantages over our pooches. It doesn't shed, bark, or need to be exercised, and - being white oak - it will last a lifetime.
